I've had that exact variety in many tanks over the years including my current system. They will reproduce in your tank and make up part of the CUC. The population grows based on available algae. They'll hide in corners where they feel safe in the day, and then venture out and eat at night. They're great CUC members. My only complaint is they like to escape the tank sometimes.
